Con 4331 votos (60,81%) el Frente Chaqueño encabezado por Jorge Capitanich triunfó en Puerto Vilelas. En segundo lugar con 1651 votos (23,18%) quedó el Frente Integrador y tercero con 702 votos (9,86%) Chaco Somos Todos.
También con el 51,80% de los votos el candidato del Frente Chaqueño, Víctor Rea le ganó la intendencia a la radical Luisa Palaya.
El Frente Chaqueño obtuvo 4 bancas en el concejo; el Partido Chaqueño para la Unidad 2 bancas y el Frente Integrador 1 banca.
El actual jefe comunal de Puerto Vilelas, Marcelo “Colo” González, quien fue electo por tres periodos consecutivos en junio pasado había confirmado que este año no iba a postularse para una reelección. En la ocasión el intendente justicialista también había dicho que está a favor de limitar los mandatos de los jefes comunales y que la sociedad necesita renovar la clase dirigente.
