El actual intendente por el Frente Chaqueño, José Carbajal obtuvo un contundente triunfo con el 72,51% de los votos y el 10 de diciembre volverá a iniciar una nueva gestión en el municipio de La Leonesa.
De este modo el Frente Chaqueño tendrá 6 bancas en el Concejo. En tanto, Chaco Somos Todos apenas obtuvo el 20,99% de los votos y le sirvió para obtener una banca en el Concejo municipal.
Para gobernador el Frente Chaqueño que lleva a la cabeza a Jorge Capitanich también tuvo un amplio triunfo del 70,99% frente a Chaco Somos Todos que apenas obtuvo el 20,89% de los votos.
Además la actual presidente del Concejo Municipal de La Leonesa y esposa del intendente Carbajal, Elda “Lela” Insaurralde, fue electa diputada provincial por la lista 658 del Frente Chaqueño.
Cabe recordar que en el período 2007 – 2011 ocupó el cargo de legisladora y tiene en su haber la ley provincial N° 6.145 mediante la cual se iniciaron las primeras tratativas de investigación para la implementación de arroceras en las localidades de Las Palmas y La Leonesa como así también la creación del Consejo Asesor del Cultivo de Arroz.
