La Justicia dispuso hacer lugar a la medida cautelar innóvatela que ordena al Tribunal Electoral que se abstenga de aplicar el voto electrónico en las localidades de Corzuela, Gancedo, Samuhú y San Bernardo. 
Según lo dispuesto por el Juzgado Civil y Comercial Nº 6, en el fallo firmado por el juez Jorge Mladen Sinkovich, los intendentes estarán autorizados a utilizar el voto con boleta papel en la totalidad de las mesas durante las elecciones del 10 de noviembre, y en una eventual segunda vuelta el 1 de diciembre de 2019.
El argumento principal de esta decisión tiene que ver con “evitar las consecuencias económicas financieras y administrativas” de la aplicación de la Boleta de Voto Electrónico (BVE).
Previamente, estaba estipulado que en las localidades que desdoblaron sus elecciones municipales, la tecnología se aplicaría tanto durante la emisión del voto como para el escrutinio.
En agosto, las localidades del sudoeste habían presentado en conjunto su cronograma electoral en el que desdoblaron sus elecciones municipales de las provinciales del 13 de octubre.
